UVA
UVA (Ultraviolet A) rays penetrate the deeper layers of the skin (the dermis), damaging and ageing the skin with an increased risk of skin cancer.

UVB
UVB (Ultraviolet B) rays penetrate the epidermis and cause redness, skin damage, age spots and ultimately skin cancer.

HEV
HEV (High Energy Visible Rays) / Blue Light

Blue Light is one of the several colours in the visible light spectrum and is often referred to as high energy visible rays or HEV. It is emitted from the sun, as well as from electronic devices like our smartphones, tablets & TVs. Blue light poses potential skin damage due to free radical generation and has been shown to induce oxidative stress in live skin.

Blue Light Exposure contributes to:

–       Wrinkle formation.

–       Skin discolouration and pigmentation.

–       Skin inflammation.

IR-A
IR-A (Infrared Light) rays penetrate the skin deeper than UV radiation and visible light, with 50% reaching the dermis – the layer where wrinkles are formed.

IR-A contributes to:

–       Collagen damage within the skin.
–       Reduction of new-forming collagen.
–       Wrinkles and premature ageing.
